Can French Bulldogs be DESTRUCTIVE?? ABSOLUTELY!! What causes this behavior?
It's natural for any pet to be destructive from time to time, but French Bulldogs are notorious for this. They are curious, stubborn and energetic. They use their paws as hands, making it easy for them to get ahold of nearly anything, make sure things are picked up and put away out of their reach to avoid accidents from happening.
Here are a few reasons why they may act out in this manner:
Separation Anxiety- You become their best friend so when you leave they become lonely. Try not to leave them alone for extended periods of time.
Boredom- Although they are low energy dogs, French Bulldogs need to be taken on walks and played with to exercise like any other dogs. If you want your puppies energy level lowered it needs to be interacted with. Interactive toys are great, just make sure they don't offer choking hazzards to them.
Poor Socialization- It's important to start socialization at young age so they know and understand how to act around other animals and humans. They can become sheltered and protective over their owners without this.
Teething- When puppies teeth it's painful so they look for items to chew on to ease this pain. Make sure to have chew toys that are safe available for this process as it happens.
How to help stop this destructive behavior:
Identify the cause behind the behavior. French Bulldogs are well-known for their friendly and playful nature, but if you notice your pup exhibiting any of these actions it's time to address it.
Interactive Toys- These become a great training tool as well as surpress the boredom they may be experiencing.
Positive Reinforcement- They love to please, when you praise them they get excited and will usually continue being behave.
Playtime- Make sure to let them play with you or other animals through out the day. This will help release energy they get built up.
How much does a French Bulldog Cost?
French Bulldogs are much pricier than other breeds of dog, and the reason is not so far from their high demands and a couple other factors. Knowing what a french bulldog costs will help you budget for one.
If you're looking for the ever-charming cute puppy, then I can assure you they are worth every dime you spend.
The average cost of a french bulldog varies from $2000 to $8000, and in some cases, depending on the quality of it's breed line, it could be more than $15,000.
Factors that affect the pricing:
1. Ancestral Pedigree- Ancient Bulldog lineage costs a lot more
2. The Breeder- Reputable breeders with history and skillfulness on raising quality and healthy pups.
3.Trends- Like anything else this breed goes through trends like color and structure.
4.Appearance- Color plays a huge roll is pricing of puppies as well. Exotic colors cost more.
5. Gender- Females cost more
6. Vaccination- Reputable breeders will vaccinate their puppies which add to the cost.
7. Training Received- Most professional breeders will take the time to train puppies, unlike backyard breeders.
New Puppy Items:
Harness- it's ok for the puppies to wear regular neck collars but for walks please only use harnesses.
Ear Cleaner- A good one recommended by a vet is Pet MD Tris Flush Cat & Dog Ear Cleaner

Salmon Oil- This is great for your dogs health and coat, the best one I've found is Iceland Pure Salmon Oil, you can get this on Amazon
Pee Pads- We don't use disposable pee pads except on our newborns and only until they start crawling around. The best pee pads are washable ones so your dog won't chew and eat the pads then need to have emergancy surgery. EZ Whelp has some great ones on Amazon or their website.
Disinfectant- The one I like to use is Chlorhexidine 2% Amazon carry's this
Face Wipes- Squishface has wrinkle wipes that are good for tear stains and wrinkles to keep them clean. They also have Wrinkle Paste that works great as well.
Pet Stairs- Any pet store, Walmart or Amazon is. a great place to find steps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Female Vagina Wipes- You need to keep your girls clean back there to avoid infection, you can use a clean warm washcloth to clean or nonscented "Natural Care" baby wipes. If they have any irritation I would only recommend using a warm wet washcloth. Make sure to get in all the crevices!!
Stainless Steel Dog Dishes- This well help prevent dog acne, make sure to wash them daily.
